However, it's important to note that this tire is not suitable for use in freezing temperatures, icy roads, or snowy conditions. The SportContact 6 features Continental's special Black Chili compound, which uses a unique carbon black that enhances traction and quickly reaches optimal temperature. Its tread pattern includes a robust outer shoulder and a closely spaced intermediate rib for better lateral stability during extreme handling. The continuous center rib ensures consistent contact with the road, resulting in a responsive and precise driving experience. Additionally, the tire's deep grooves and lateral notches effectively channel water away to prevent hydroplaning. Internally, the SportContact 6 is equipped with a two-ply rayon casing and two high-tensile steel belts for added strength and durability. Continental's Aralon 350 hybrid cap ply further reinforces the steel belts, ensuring stability and control even at high speeds. It's important to note that this tire should not be exposed to temperatures below 20 degrees Fahrenheit (-7 degrees Celsius). If exposed to such temperatures, they must be gradually warmed to at least 40 degrees Fahrenheit (5 degrees Celsius) for a minimum of 24 hours before any adjustments or usage. Otherwise, the specialized rubber compounds can crack, which is not covered under warranty and requires tire replacement.
