The Ventus R-S4 (Z232) is an Extreme Performance Summer tire designed for drivers of sports cars, sports coupes, and performance sedans seeking high levels of grip for track events, autocross, and drifting, while still being suitable for street driving. It should not be used in freezing temperatures, snow, or ice. The Ventus R-S4 features a new high-grip compound with carbon black and silica, molded into a low-void, directional pattern. Its continuous center rib allows for solid on-center feel and quick response to steering inputs. The tire also has large outboard shoulder blocks for excellent cornering grip, chamfered block edges for increased pavement contact, and enhanced wet traction with silica and circumferential grooves to resist hydroplaning. Inside, the tire has sidewall reinforcement and high-modulus bead filler for sharper handling response, and a two-layer nylon cover to optimize handling and longevity. In colder temperatures, these tires should gradually return to higher temperatures before being flexed, as using them in cold weather can lead to irreversible compound cracking.
