It has an asymmetric tread pattern with variable size tread elements to reduce noise and improve performance in various weather conditions. The tire also has stable outboard shoulder blocks with lateral siping for better cornering, a rigid center rib for increased steering control and dry grip, and circumferential grooves to prevent hydroplaning. It has winter siping technology for improved snow traction. In 2016, Pirelli updated the compound of the tire to enhance traction in wet and snowy conditions.
