The Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season Plus is a tire specially designed for powerful crossovers, SUVs, sport-tuned vehicles, and performance pickup trucks. It offers a perfect combination of high-performance capabilities and the utility of an all-season tire, including the ability to drive in light snow. This tire is equipped with Pirelli's latest high-performance, all-season tread compound, which is molded into an asymmetric tread design. The tread compound contains a high-silica content matrix, along with unique polymer blends and resins that are specifically engineered to provide balanced, all-around performance. The asymmetric pattern of the tire employs large shoulder blocks on the outer side, resulting in highly responsive handling and braking traction on both dry and wet roads. Additionally, the rigid central blocks contribute to improved grip on dry surfaces. The inclusion of special silica further enhances wet-weather traction, and the presence of four wide, circumferential grooves aids in the evacuation of water from the contact patch, making the tire resistant to hydroplaning. The smaller tread blocks on the inner side feature zigzag sipes, which are tailored for winter conditions and provide the necessary biting edges for improved traction on slippery surfaces. Internally, the Scorpion Zero All Season Plus is constructed with two wide steel belts and a spirally wound nylon reinforcement. The tension of the reinforcement can be adjusted by Pirelli's engineers to achieve the desired balance between stiffness and handling.
