Pirelli WINTER SOTTOZERO 3 RUN FLAT

The Winter Sottozero 3 Run Flat tires are designed for premium, high-performance vehicles that are driven year-round in challenging winter road conditions. These tires utilize Pirelli's Self-Supporting Run Flat Technology, which allows them to continue running temporarily even after a puncture causes a complete loss of air pressure. The tires can go up to 50 miles at 50 mph, unless advised otherwise by the vehicle manufacturer. Pirelli developed the Winter Sottozero 3 Run Flat tires with the belief that winter/snow tires should be able to handle a range of unpredictable weather conditions. They are designed to provide traction and handling in cool, cold, dry, wet, and wintry conditions, making them suitable for cold weather and freezing roads. These tires feature an innovative compound with specialized polymers that enhance the mechanical, thermal, and dynamic properties of the tread rubber. The compound is molded into a directional pattern, consisting of arrow-shaped center blocks and rounded shoulders to effectively expel water and slush. Additionally, high-density 3D sipes improve braking performance and snow-to-snow traction. The internal structure of the Winter Sottozero 3 Run Flat tires includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped polyamide. This enhances thermal stability and makes the tires less affected by changes in road and air temperatures. Pirelli's MIRS computer-controlled robotized manufacturing system ensures consistency in applying the additional sidewall reinforcements that enable the self-supporting run-flat capability. These winter/snow tires meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and bear the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol. Pirelli recommends installing the Winter Sottozero 3 Run Flat tires in sets of four to optimize handling characteristics and tire performance. It should be noted that while tires branded with MOExtended or MOE on their sidewalls offer run-flat-like characteristics, they cannot be considered run-flat tires. They provide limited temporary extended mobility after a puncture causes a complete loss of air pressure. However, they do not have the same endurance in terms of speed and distance as conventional run-flat tires. Therefore, MOExtended or MOE tires should not be used as a substitute when a conventional run-flat tire is required. To confirm the tire requirements for a specific vehicle, one can check the Original Equipment tire listing or refer to the vehicle owner's manual.
